Australian Open

New world number one, Roger Federer comprehensively outplayed Marat Safin to win the 2004 Australian Open. Federer displayed great form in a commanding 7-6 6-4 6-2 win over Safin. In the Women's final Justine Henin-Hardenne took her first Australian Open title with a dramatic 6-3 4-6 6-3 win over Kim Clijsters.
